LOS
ANGELES, June 21 (UPI) -- John Cena and Victoria Justice will host the 18th annual Teen
Choice Awards.
The
39-year-old WWE star and 23-year-old singer confirmed as much on their
respective Twitter accounts after Fox announced the news in a press release Tuesday.
"I'm
excited that you can see ME and @Victoria Justice host @TeenChoiceFOX LIVE
Sunday, July 31st! #Teen Choice," Cena tweeted.
"Surprise!
Excited to announce I'll be co-hosting the 2016 @TeenChoiceFox Awards w/
@JohnCena on July 31! #Teen Choice," Justice wrote.
The 2016
Teen Choice Awards will air live Sunday, July 31 at 8 p.m. ET. Cena is
nominated for Choice Male Athlete, along with Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, Peyton Manning, Roman Reigns and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fox also
announced singer Charlie Puth and Empire star Serayah as the first of
several performers. Puth, who is nominated for Choice Music Breakout Artist,
will perform his single "We Don't Talk Anymore."
Cena is a
12-time WWE Champion who also hosts the Fox reality competition American
Grit. Justice, meanwhile, is known for Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 and Victorious
and will play Janet in Fox's forthcoming Rocky Horror Picture Show
remake.
