All Hail The Champions As Real clinch UCL title on penalties

Football | Champions League

Real Madrid were crowned European champions for an unprecedented 11th time when Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning penalty in a 5-3 shootout victory over Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
The Champions League final had finished 1-1 after extra time with Sergio Ramos having bundled the ball home to give Real the lead in the 15th minute.
Antoine Griezmann missed a penalty at the start of the second half for Atletico when he fired his shot against the bar.
Atletico, beaten in their two previous final appearances, including the most recent against Real in 2014, suffered a series of let-offs before substitute Yannick Carrasco rifled in the equaliser in the 79th minute to send the game into extra time.
Juan Fran missed Atletico's fourth penalty in the shootout and Ronaldo converted to seal victory for Real.
"What an amazing feeling," Real forward Gareth Bale said. "We showed resilience and what we are made of. It was a war of attrition. I cannot describe how it feels.
"The boys gave everything and we deserve it. It was a final and you have to win. We just kept going and we can lift the trophy again now," the Welshman added.
The challenges came in thick and fast early on and Atletico gave away two free kicks in dangerous positions.
They got away with it the first time when Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak made a brilliant save on his line to block Casemiro's shot from a Gareth Bale free kick.
But there was no let-off when Bale headed on a Toni Kroos free kick and Ramos prodded the ball over the line.
The second half began dramatically when Pepe clumsily caught Fernando Torres's ankle in the area to give away a penalty.
But Griezmann fired his spot-kick against the underside of the bar, possibly distracted by Keylor Nava’s jumping along his goal line.
Oblak, who had a made a brilliant one-on-one save from Karim Benzema, made an another superb stop from Cristiano Ronaldo and Stefan Savic cleared Bale's shot off the line.
Atletico immediately went down the other end where Griezmann lifted the ball to Juan Fran, who volleyed a cross for Carrasco to fire home from close range.
Neither side looked like breaking the deadlock in extra-time.
It was a night of an epic battle between the two Spanish giants, the game which started with missed attempts from Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth bale in the 25th minute, but the game came alive in the 75th minute when real defender Sergio Ramos clinch a goal from a support header from Gareth bale.
But all hopes and celebration were cut short when a goal came from carrasco in Atletico Madrid to put the game on draw.

Photo by Andrew Lam/Shutterstock             MOUNT ISA, Australia, June 7 (UPI) -- An Australian woman went to extraordinary measures to care for a frog after she accidentally ran over it with her lawn mower. Street named after Tuface Idibia in Kenya

Last Updated: 1 hour ago Tuface Idibaia is currently in Kenya with his beautiful wife, Annie Idibia. The couple seems to be having a great time in the country. Photos of the duo have been surfacing on line since their arrival in Kenya. Though he is there for a show, but a little relaxation is also cool, just like a little get away. Kenyans seems to be in love with the Ace singer, as they decided to name a street after him and calls it, ‘Innocent Idibia Street.’ This is actually a great achievement for the living legend, as he gets honoured and appreciated in this manner. Having a street named after someone is a form of respect that shows how much that individual is loved and respected. No doubt Tubaba is loved and respected in Nigeria, but no street in Nigeria has been named after him. Isn't this a shame to our country? Just like the saying goes, 'a prophet is not known in his home' is exactly what played out, our own is been valued more outside the cou...

Man bitten by 14-foot python comes back to catch it two days later

Karl Davies laughs while helping to catch the python that bit him in the leg during a hike in Hong Kong. Screenshot: Karl Davies/Facebook    A British man who was bitten by a python while hiking in Hong Kong returned to the same spot with a trapper to capture the 14-foot-long snake. Karl Davies, 49, posted a video to Facebook showing him helping professional snake catcher Dave Willott capture the large python at the side of a trail in the Sai Kung district Wednesday, two days after he first encountered the snake. Davies said he was walking his two border collies with friend Andrew Chambers when the python, which he had spotted during previous walks, made its appearance. "I walked past the place I'd seen the snake before and it wasn't there," Davies told the South China Morning Post . "The next thing -- bang! -- The python jumped out of the bush and sank its teeth into my leg. It got me around the lower calf." He said getting the snak...
